Clugston Construction, one of the North's leading privately owned building and civil engineering contractors, with offices in Leeds, Scunthorpe and Hebburn Tyne and Wear has secured contracts worth a total of £17.5 million.
The projects, which include a factory extension and an office resource centre in Leeds and Immingham, are for leading international companies with operations in the Yorkshire & Humber region.
Construction work on the projects is varied, requiring design and build elements to both and will involve the company using local labour and suppliers from across the region, which it always seeks to do, whenever it can, to deliver projects. There will be over 100 people working on the projects at their peak.
In addition, the company has also recently started work on a Performing Arts block at John Leggott College in Scunthorpe. The £2.5 million project, which is being partly funded with money from the Young People's Learning Authority (YPLA), is part of a rolling programme of improvements being made to the College's West Common Lane campus to ensure it continues to provide a high quality learning experience for young people.
Steve Radcliffe, managing director at Clugston Construction, commented: "We are delighted to have been chosen to work on these developments, which are close to our offices in Leeds and Scunthorpe and will enable us to use our local supply chain."
