Construction membranes specialist Icopal has extended its range of gas membranes with the launch of a CO2 membrane.

The Monarflex CO2 membrane is suitable for use as a damp proof membrane, and when properly sealed and detailed, to restrict the ingress of CO2 in residential, education, health-care, commercial and industrial situations where there are low concentrations of the gas.

Loose laid with ground-supported or suspended slabs, it is a three-layer, 0.5mm thick membrane kitemarked to EN 13967 and manufactured to ISO 9001 from virgin low-density polyethylene (LDPE) with a polyester reinforcing grid.

Also suitable as a radon barrier, and coloured green on its upper surface and black under-neath, it can be laid either over or under ground-bearing slabs as well as over the slab of suspended floors but in all cases should be covered with a screed or other suitable protec-tive layer.

Monarflex CO2 has a tensile strength of 325N/50mm and tear resistance of 220N and is available in rolls 25 metres long and four metres wide. Accessories include pre-formed top hats, Monarseal MRX self-adhesive membrane and Monobond jointing tape.
