ISG Jackson Successfully Delivers Sustainable Home Development In Ipswich

ISG Jackson has completed a £3.6 million project for Orwell Housing Association, successfully delivering a highly sustainable 36-unit affordable housing scheme in Ipswich. The Clump Field development represents an important regional regeneration project and was carried out in partnership with Ipswich Borough Council to rejuvenate the former site of a derelict sheltered housing scheme.

The completed project includes a mix of house types with a range of two, three and four bedroom town houses, one five bedroom house and a number of apartments across four separate blocks on site. The development has achieved an excellent Code for Sustainable Homes Level 4 standard through the use of modern methods of construction and high performance building materials. ISG Jackson also teamed up with the Suffolk Wildlife Trust to encourage greater biodiversity across the site, installing a number of bird and bat boxes and creating suitable habitats for local wildlife.

Michael Manning, director of ISG Jackson's Living division, commented: "The Clump Field development represents an excellent example of collaborative working between the client, council and contractor to deliver an important regeneration project that raises the standards for the local built environment.

"The scheme has been designed to invoke a real sense of community and sustainability lies at the very heart of the development, minimising the overall environmental impact of the new homes, whilst helping to reduce running costs for residents. Working closely with the Suffolk Wildlife Trust has proved invaluable across many of our projects and as a Gold Member of the charity, ISG Jackson demonstrates its commitment to conservation and also benefits from the charity's professional ecological consultancy services."
