The 1970s three-storey building will be transformed with the addition of a full-height glass-fronted extension to create a stunning entrance with new mezzanine levels across the first and second floors – providing over 48,500 sq ft of high quality open plan Cat A office space . ISG will strip out and reconfigure the existing accommodation, replacing all mechanical and electrical services with modern efficient systems and installing raised access floors and new suspended ceilings throughout.

Significant alterations will be made to the internal layout of the third floor, with plant relocated and existing meeting rooms removed to create contemporary office accommodation. An additional 1,600 sq ft of office space will be created through a third floor extension, with alterations made to the roof structure and external cladding panels. A new performance membrane roof covering will also be installed as part of the building upgrade works.

Alan McCarthy-Wyper, managing director of ISG’s construction business, commented: “This latest project further reinforces our relationship with SWIP, which now includes our first scheme for the investment firm in Aberdeen. Once completed, AB1 will be the only new office space completed in Aberdeen city centre for around 18 months and we anticipate strong interest for these excellent facilities in this prime location.”
