Over 100 leading professionals from the Midlands property sector attended a business briefing on 20 September 2011 held by Linden Homes, part of the Galliford Try Group.

At the briefing, held at The Haycock Hotel, Wansford, the award-winning housebuilder showcased its ambitious plans for the future under its new organisational structure. Earlier this year Galliford Try merged its four regional housebuilding divisions to form a single national brand - Linden Homes. The company also discussed its current development programme and the state of the broader property market.

Chris Bond, managing director of Linden Homes Midlands, said the event was an eye-opener for delegates, helping them to understand where Linden Homes sits within their community, and how the company is expanding at a critical time for nation's housebuilding sector and broader economy.

"Linden Homes is renowned for creating award winning individual developments and within the region, we have 10 developments under construction, which on completion will provide a total of over 500 new homes. An additional five new developments are also in the pipeline, which demonstrates our commitment to the wider Midlands," he said.

Developments in the area include, Longstanton, Oakham, Lincoln, Huntingdon, Bingham, Gunthorpe, Castor and St Ives.

Greg Locke, divisional managing director of Linden Homes, explained the success of the Midlands division was representative of the company's growth nationwide.

"Creating 'one brand' throughout 10 regions heralds a new era for our business and reaffirms our investment towards future growth," he said. "Sharing ideas and best practices throughout the country means we can head confidently into the future delivery excellent homes and customer service."

He added: "We are currently the seventh largest housebuilder in the UK and, by this time next year, we will be building 3,000 homes annually and on our way to becoming one of the top housebuilders in the UK.

"Over the last 18 months, Linden Homes has acquired over £350 million of land, with plans to purchase more in the year ahead, which demonstrates our commitment to building quality new homes at a time when other housebuilders are shrinking operations and, overall new home construction rates are at generational lows."

The Galliford Try Group is the fastest growing company in the FTSE construction and housebuilding sector, with a strong cash position and turnover in excess of £1.2 billion.
