Sure Equipment Spares is gearing up for changes to the delivery of parts from overseas, to continue its prompt service for clients.

The company - part of the Finlay Group - has introduced a six-figure investment programme to increase its own stock in light of changes to international transportation.

Security checks around the world mean that larger items, such as engines, now need to be screened - usually by x-ray - before being transported by plane.

Difficulties in completing this for waste recycling and quarrying machinery equipment - due to the sheer sizes involved - means that the spares often need to be moved by road as opposed to by air - moving delivery times from overnight to a two-day service.

Julian Sharpe, managing director of Sure Equipment Spares, (SES) said: "With this in mind we've invested £100,000 in increasing stocks, to ensure we can continue to deliver to our customers quickly and overcome these logistics issues."

Established for 40 years, Sure Equipment Spares is agent for Terex Finlay, Allu, Tesab, Pilot Crushtec and Trio.

The company provides spares from a computerised central warehouse in the Midlands. This facility is backed by strategically located satellite warehouses, and the company can also draw on online spares direct from various dealership complexes.
