The all female crew from the Association of Women in Property (WiP) is again supported by the British Army's military construction specialists the Royal Engineers for this year's Little Britain Challenge Cup 8th-11th September.

For their eighth consecutive campaign the WiP crew, which has successfully defended the PRC Fewster Cup for 50% Female crew every year since 2007, is once again seeking line honours in IRC Cruising Class. WiP is also defending the Welsh Water trophy for Alliance Teams and is looking to improve upon its best-ever performance in 2010.

Carol Bell, WIP yacht crew captain and Senior Project Manager at Robinson Low Francis, has again drawn together a multi-disciplinary team of eight built environment professionals from all over the UK. Three new recruits add Interior Design to the diverse list of professions practised by crew members, from Architecture, Contracting, Law, Project Management and Marketing.

"Our crew's experience ranges from novice through LBCC regulars to veterans of Antigua Race week. As usual we will have no opportunity to sail together until we head out into the Solent for the first race but we aren't short of competitive spirit and, with our ex-Royal Engineers skipper Nathan's encouragement, we are sure to come out fighting!" said Carol Bell.

The team plans to compete in IRC Cruising Class, sailing the Royal Engineers' Yacht Club's X332 Ilex of Upnor, currently participating in the 600-mile Rolex Fastnet Race.

"Our thanks go to the Royal Engineers for their continuing support. And thanks too, to Women in Property and to our sponsors whose support enables us to enter despite the tough economic climate" concludes Carol Bell.
