Doncasters invests in graduate talent

Staffordshire, UK: Doncasters Group Ltd., a leading global supplier of precision-engineered components to the aerospace, power generation and automotive markets, has welcomed four new graduates to its popular graduate development programme.

Ailsa Duncan has a degree in aerospace engineering specialising in materials design from the University of Sheffield and initially joins the team at Doncasters Precision Castings, Deritend.

Jonathan Dunn also has a degree in aerospace engineering design, from Kingston University, and begins his placement at Doncasters' turbocharger site, Trucast, in the Isle of Wright.

Richard Fooks begins his placements at Doncasters Blaenavon in South Wales and holds a degree in design engineering from the University of Bradford, while Kieron Watson studied mechanical engineering at the University of Sheffield and begins his Doncasters career in the same city, joining the team at Doncasters Bramah.

The new graduates will work across four different Doncasters sites over the course of their two-year training programmes, developing technical and management skills through a series of real life projects from day one of their placements.

Liz Peel, employee development manager at Doncasters Group, said: "It's always an exciting time of the year, welcoming new graduates on to the scheme.

"Since its inception in 2006, Doncasters' graduate development programme has gone from strength to strength, with many former graduates now playing key roles across the Group and making a positive contribution to our performance.

"Investing in skills development is key to both Doncasters' future and that of the wider precision-engineering industry. As our increasingly competitive application process revealed, there is some real talent looking to forge a career in the industry and we wish all our new graduates every success."
