Deconstruct appointed to create new lift and stair core through existing occupied listed building at the Royal Academy of Engineers.
About the project:
Deconstruct UK Ltd were called in to assist with creating core double lift core access through a six storey structure. To remove an existing single lift and pit to create a double lift core for access through this six storey structure.
These works required the underpinning of the existing party and structural walls for a new double lift pit and required the construction of a new lift core through the six floors.
The works were carried out in a live listed building and noise and vibration were a key client concern.
