Redhills (part of Silverdell PLC), Redhills has extended the scope of its UKAS Accreditation for testing and inspection of asbestos to include two more of its regional offices.
Leading asbestos and environmental consultancy, Redhills recently announced extending the scope of its UKAS Accreditation for asbestos inspection and testing services to their two offices in Glasgow and Newcastle. The offices were opened recently by the industry leading provider of environmental consultancy services across the asbestos, legionella and hazardous materials sectors, to expand their nationwide coverage across the UK.

The Control of Asbestos Regulations 2006 (CAR 2006) and more specifically Regulation 4: Duty to manage asbestos in non-domestic properties sets a legal requirement for owners and occupiers of non-domestic buildings to carry out a suitable assessment to determine whether asbestos is present or liable to be present.
Accreditation by UKAS means that evaluators i.e. testing and calibration laboratories, certification and asbestos inspection bodies have been assessed against internationally recognised standards to demonstrate their competence, impartiality and performance capability.
