BackgroundA distribution centre based in the North West of England occupying a former asbestos processing factory. This global distribution company is committed to managing asbestos in its non-domestic properties. Following a review of a third party asbestos survey several areas containing high-risk asbestos containing materials were identified.
The client recognises and is committed to providing a safe working environment for all employees and complying with current UK asbestos regulations. The challenge facing this distributer was to assess the scale and nature of the problem quickly in order to take the appropriate action whilst maintaining a distribution facility working to strict stock movement deadlines.
Redhills were employed to carry out an urgent review of all asbestos information pertinent to the sites and make recommendations. A Principal Consultant was able to attend site within a few hours of the initial instruction.
On attendance to site lines of communication were quickly established and a review of the history of the site and asbestos records undertaken.
