The UK wide Company, recently received accreditation from SAFEcontractor, a programme which recognises very high standards of health and safety practise amongst UK contractors. This adds to the CHAS scheme, Achilles UVDB & Link-Up, Construction Line and the OHSAS18001 ACE already maintains.
With offices across UK, the AcePSI Group is one the UK's leading total Asbestos Management Consultancy and is principally involved in delivering end-to-end asbestos solutions. This includes UKAS accredited Asbestos Surveys & Asbestos Inspection, Bulk sampling, Air Monitoring, Asbestos Consulting, Project Management, UKATA certified Asbestos Training, Asbestos Awareness E-Learning and Asbestos Management Software Suite.
As a £5 million turnover company, ACE Ltd has been working across a wide range of industries including Retail, Construction, Manufacturing, Facilities Management, Housing, Transport, Utilities and Energy. The company's most recent customers have included some of the major players such as Coca-cola, J Murphy & Sons, Cofely, Medway, Costain, Network Rail, Scottish Power and National Grid.
The company's application for SAFEcontractor accreditation was driven by the needs of a customer requiring ACE to become accredited for a uniform standard across the business.
Kaveh Mir, Managing Director of AcePSI Group said, "At Asbestos Consultants to the Environment Ltd we are committed to minimising anyone's accidental exposure to Asbestos, ensuring our staff work safely on site, remain free from any health risks and maintain the safety and health of third parties.
OHSAS18001 helps manage this with SAFEcontractor accreditation assisting in the monitoring of performance. It also helps us to demonstrate our commitment to our customer's safety requirements and policies, giving us a competitive edge. Maintaining high standards that comply or exceed current statutory requirements under the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 ensures customers that risks are managed effectively and efficiently when we provide a service".
SAFEcontractor accreditation is expected to enhance the company's ability to attract new contracts and its commitment to safety will be viewed positively by our insurers when the company's liability policy is up for renewal.
John Kinge, Head of Risk at SAFEcontractor said, "Major organisations can no longer run the risk of employing contractors who are not able to prove that they have sound health and safety policies".
"More companies need to understand the importance of adopting good risk management in the way that AcePSI Group has done. ACE Ltd's high standard has set an example, which hopefully will be followed by other companies within the sector".
Under the SAFEcontractor system, businesses undergo a vetting process, which examines health and safety procedures and their track record for safe practice. Those companies meeting the high standard are included on a database, which is accessible to registered users only via SAFEcontractor website.
