Bentley Puts Fircroft In Driving Seat

Crewe-based Bentley Motors has briefed specialist automotive recruitment agency Fircroft with helping it solve a recruitment challenge facing all of the automotive sector. Having a world famous brand name and offering a lucrative employment package normally makes recruitment of top quality staff straightforward. However, a global shortage of capable vehicle testing and development engineers means that Bentley, one the most prestigious high luxury car manufacturers is struggling to fill a number of vacancies.

Expansion within Bentley's acoustics and aerodynamics department has created five new Noise, Vibration and Harshness (NVH) engineering roles. NVH engineers play a crucial role in the final tuning of all the exclusive marque's new models and it is looking for engineers with a broad range of automotive experience, ranging from post-graduate level to engineers with up to 20 years' industry experience.

Aaron Hankinson, Functional Manager - Acoustics & Aerodynamics at Bentley Motors, comments: "NVH engineers are involved in all aspects of vehicle testing including interior systems and on-the-road handling. They help maximise vehicle performance and are ultimately responsible for bringing to market the high quality cars for which Bentley is renowned.

"Working in NVH at Bentley requires enthusiasm for perfection and the ability to look beyond the obvious to develop market leading solutions - this is why it's doubly difficult to find the right engineers."
Fircroft has worked with Bentley for more than ten years, successfully placing specialist staff in a range of roles at the manufacturer's Crewe facility. Damian Hoskison, Business Unit Manager at Fircroft adds: "Bentley is growing its NVH team to help continually drive innovation. This has created new roles which have been difficult to fill as NVH requires such a unique skill set and Bentley will only appoint the very best engineers.

"A return to strength in global markets may prompt NVH engineers across the UK and Europe to consider new career opportunities. We're developing a website and communications campaign including social media to connect with NVH engineers and fill these roles."

Aaron Hankinson at Bentley concludes: "NVH engineers have recently been involved in the launch of the Bentley Mulsanne and the new Continental GT - two of the most iconic cars on the market and ones which have already created media excitement and extensive customer orders. The new Bentley recruits will be instrumental in even more new vehicle developments over the next few years. Working as part of the Bentley team provides many long-term, exciting career opportunities, but to realise these, applicants must relish a challenge."
