The north east's largest independent car supermarket, Henson Motor Group has bucked the recession and the traditionally quiet month of January by announcing their best quarter sales figures from November to January since the company started trading in 1996. Sales are up 24% on the same three month period in 2009 / 2010 with repeat customers and recommendations forming 42% of all business. Henson Motor Group sales manager Ross Hall says: "We are all really pleased with these results which I firmly believe represent increased consumer confidence here in the north east.
Throughout late 2008 and early 2009 people were being cautious due to what they were hearing from economists. Towards the end of 2009, it became apparent that while certain sectors were hurting due to the recession, the picture was not all doom and gloom. Today we are selling well right across the range, from small, economical hatchbacks, through family saloons and people carriers, to executive cars. This latter segment has benefited from new, monorail diesel engines coming onto the market, offering fantastic fuel economy for bigger cars in particular". "We have worked hard on our PriceWatch Policy, checking our cars daily against every other dealer within a one hundred mile radius.
This puts us in the position of knowing we can offer our customers the cars they want at the best possible price. And since many people are suffering through a poor credit rating due to tightening up on the part of lenders, our sister company, Refused Car Finance.com is well placed to arrange credit when other lenders refuse. All in all, we are looking forward to a bumper summer and the end of recession blues". The news of a record three month period comes as Henson Motor Group complete the refurbishment of its flagship two and a half acre car supermarket at Benton Road opposite Asda. The new steel and glass showroom includes features plasma screens, a large children's play area, free soft drinks, tea, coffee and a relaxed atmosphere. Founded in 1996 by David Wilson, Henson Motor Group has grown to become one of the largest and longest established car supermarket groups in the UK. An award winning website at hensonmotorgroup.co.uk means the company now has customers throughout the UK.
