Lista (UK) Ltd, a world leader in the design and manufacture of innovative, efficient, modular storage and workspace systems, has been commissioned by Marussia F1 Team to design, supply and fit new race bays and composites shop at its new leading-edge Marussia Technical Centre in Banbury.

Working closely with the Marussia F1 Team, a design was drawn up and agreed incorporating a number of key requirements for each workstation. The brief was to design a practical workshop area to allow the engineers easy access to tools, parts, and other equipment - an area both secure and aesthetically pleasing, offering plenty of drawer space plus electrical, data and compressed air supplies.

The Lista system includes modular drawer storage cabinets, sliding and hinged door cabinets, air reel hose cabinets and race bay bins. Lista also designed a bespoke roller shutter cabinet, sitting flush with the floor, to allow equipment to be effortlessly rolled in and neatly stored away. The close proximity of the Lista cabinets to the race cars results in increased efficiency and a rapid turnaround. "We used Lista at our former Dinnington facility. The quality and durability of the Lista products is first class so we knew we would be using Lista at our new Technical Centre," said Gordon Vacher, Factory Manager. "Lista have worked closely with us in identifying our specific needs and providing a solution that best optimises the space available at our new facility. We like the personal service they offer, right through the project from design to completion," added Vacher.

The project is still ongoing, with the next phase of completion being the composites room. Here careful planning for precision work is essential and therefore a clean, safe and ordered area is crucial. The new design of the composites room ensures that every need of the technicians is met with the perfect storage solution. And that solution is customised to the Team's exact floor plan, workflow and wish list. To keep the area spotless, Lista has designed in multiple waste disposal units to keep the area clean and safe. The units have been strategically integrated into the storage system so technicians are always within easy reach of a waste disposal unit and the waste is collected at source. This eliminates any need for free-standing bins which can be hazardous when sensitive materials such as resins are being used.

"Lista is delighted to be part of the new Marussia Technical Centre," said Marco van der Linden, General Manager at Lista UK. "The quality of our products is well suited to meet the highest standards that a company such as Marussia F1 Team expects," added Van der Linden.
