Wheel alignment specialist Pro-Align has once again raised the bar for wheel alignment equipment standards with the launch of its revolutionary Hunter HawkEye Elite TD alignment system. The new range-topping system features a number of original innovations and enhancements which deliver unrivalled speed, accuracy and profit generation opportunities for workshops.

The most striking and radical developments over other HawkEye models is a totally new design of integrated wheel clamp and target, which enable the aligner to deliver measurement results in record-breaking time of just 90 seconds. The new system also features a redesigned camera bar, as well as PC and software upgrades.

"Hunter has a proud history of innovation and industry firsts and this latest imaging aligner lives up these values, offering many completely new features which will save time and improve efficiency even further," explains Paul Beaurain, managing director, Pro-Align. "For those workshops already seeing the benefits of four wheel alignment, this latest product could help take their business to the next level by increasing capacity and streamlining operations even further."

One of the ways it has achieved this is with its revolutionary patented integrated adaptor and target design, replacing the previous metal wheel clamp and separate target unit. These work in combination with Hunter's high resolution digital cameras and specialist software to calculate completely accurate compensated readings, regardless of how the clamp is positioned on the wheel.

The integrated targets are firmly fixed to the face of the wheel using QuickGrip adaptors which feature spring-loaded arms to grip the tyre, thus avoiding any metal-to-metal contact and potential rim damage. Equally these are incredibly quick to attach. Made from a tough polymer material to withstand a tough workshop life, these are nearly 50 percent lighter in weight than previous target and clamp assemblies. The new design also features a much narrower profile, making it easier to use in restricted or cramped bays.

Furthermore, technicians using the new Hunter HawkEye Elite TD will be able to utilise the aligner's unique QuickComp system. QuickComp allows users to perform rolling compensation, which is essential to take account of any rim runout or mounting error, with just one simple roll forward. Previous compensation requirements needed the technician to roll the vehicle back and forward. (Indeed, some other manufacturers' aligners even require a full 360 degree wheel revolution to ensure a true reading). However, Hunter have rewritten the compensation rule book, with this new system!

The new aligner also features version12 of Hunter's award-winning WinAlign software which includes many familiar components such as ExpressAlign which optimises workflow and sequences, WinToe which ensures a straight steering wheel every time, VirtualView, an extensive tool database, as well as WebSpecs which automatically provides workshops with the most up to date vehicle technical data obtained by Hunter directly from vehicle manufacturers. With optional features such as ShopResults; the capability to direct email the measurements results and Codelink; steering angle reset, make it an all inclusive aligner.

Pro-Align has recently installed the Hunter HawkEye Elite TD for evaluation and testing with one of Pro-Align's established customers, with initial reports back that their alignment productivity is up by one third!
