Two leading local housing developers have joined forces to create a new exclusive community development for those aged 55 and over in the grounds of The Croft, a former 'manor house' on North Road in the heart of Bourne.

Larkfleet Homes and Keystone Developments are jointly developing a total of 68 one and two-bedroom bungalows and three-bedroom houses arranged around attractively landscaped courtyards.

The manor house, built by a wealthy local businessman more than a century ago, is being restored as part of the development and the driveway and original features such as cast iron lighting columns will be retained. Facilities will include a resident's lounge, kitchen, meeting rooms and a library as well as a guest suite to accommodate visitors.

A full time estate manager will be on hand to help make life at The Croft as care-free as possible.

Jason Colmer, sales director at Larkfleet, said: "Residents of The Croft will benefit from the independence and security of property ownership without the day-to-day concerns of upkeep and maintenance. All properties at The Croft have been designed to minimise ongoing maintenance requirements - resulting in reduced running costs and lower service charges.

"As The Croft is right in the centre of Bourne, many local amenities including a supermarket, a doctor's surgery and a bus stop are only a short walk away, as are many shops and restaurants."

Ian Jackson, development director at Keystone, said: "The Croft will not only be a place to live but a community of like-minded neighbours who enjoy a lifestyle full of possibilities.

"It will be the perfect place to live for people who prefer enjoying life rather than managing a home."

The history of the site coupled with the high quality properties and excellent grounds maintenance will help sustain property investments and the future value of the homes. A range of buyer services, including removal services, will make moving to The Croft easy and trouble-free.
