Cougar Automation Lttd. announced it has achieved Select Certification from Cisco.  The Select Certification recognizes Cisco® resale channel partners that focus on meeting the technology and services needs of small businesses.

“We are delighted to become a Cisco Select Partner,” explained Simon Pape, Sales Account Manager at Cougar Automation Limited. “This will enhance our reputation and lead to further opportunities both in the traditional industrial automation/OT (Operational Technology) arena, but also the emerging ‘Internet of Things’ market.  We are extremely confident that in collaboration with Cisco, we can now really exploit these opportunities.”

To earn Select Certification, Cougar Automation Ltd. fulfilled the training and exam requirements for the Cisco Small Business Specialization. Cougar Automation Ltd. also met the personnel, training and post sales support requirements set forth by Cisco.

The Cisco Resale Channel Program provides a framework for channel partners to build the sales, technical and Cisco Lifecycle Services skills required to deliver Cisco solutions to end customers. Through the program's specializations and certifications, Cisco recognizes a channel partner's expertise in deploying solutions based on Cisco advanced technologies and services. Using a third-party audit process, the program validates channel partner qualifications such as technology skills, business best practices, customer satisfaction, and presales and post sales support capabilities -- critical factors for customers choosing a trusted channel partner.

About Cougar Automation Ltd.

We are in the business of taking away our customers automation problems and simplifying their lives so that they can concentrate on their core business of delivering the essentials of modern life.

We are proud to have helped our customers:

•    Deliver clean water to millions of people
•    Treat waste and clean up the environment
•    Deliver essential medical products
•    Provide food products
•    Keep 60 million air passengers flying each year
•    Support worldwide distribution of products

Our main service to our customers is designing and supplying automation systems through project work. An important secondary service we offer is emergency support to our customer’s operations. The support operation represents about 10% of our business.

In terms of project work, we design, program, integrate, deliver and commission automatic control systems to our customers. This could range from an entire new control system for a new process plant, through replacing an obsolete system on an existing plant, to making small modifications or additions to an existing system. Our core skill is in providing the software at the heart of these systems, and as with all software projects the key is in understanding what will really deliver value to the end user. Often it is difficult for a customer to articulate what they need the system to do in precise terms at the start of a project, so a key part of our work is in understanding and interpreting what the customer needs so that we can deliver the solution to their problem.

The support side of our business is delivered through our dedicated 24 hour support team. Our support team’s mission is to immediately react to our customers call out 24 hours a day 365 days a year and try to get their plant up and running as quickly as possible. Having a dedicated support team sets us apart from most of our competitors who try to provide support through their normal project people. Having a dedicated team means that we can guarantee response times to our customers; ensures that Cats (the name for our people) who respond are skilled and trained at fault finding and getting systems up and running quickly; and finally it avoids any impact on our planned project work.
