Following on from the launch of a wellbeing programme for staff at work, Peterborough-based medical devices company Coloplast is giving its employees a chance to improve their health and wellbeing outside of work, with the introduction of a new flexible benefits scheme.
The scheme will see employees benefiting from discounted gym memberships, health screening, dental insurance and a range of other benefits. They will also have the opportunity to 'sell' some of their annual leave or 'buy' extra holiday days. The flexible nature of the scheme means that employees can choose the benefits that are of the most importance to them.
Under the new scheme staff can adjust certain benefits, such as increasing single private medical insurance to cover more than one person and also enhance their pension contributions.
Sam Sedwill, HR director at Coloplast, explains: "When it comes to a benefits package, we understand that one size doesn't fit all. Some people value gym membership more highly than enhanced pension contributions and vice versa. By enabling our employees to create their own bespoke package they can adapt their benefits to suit their lifestyle and stage of life.
"The new scheme is just one of the ways in which Coloplast is striving to be a great place to work. Our staff are important to us and introducing initiatives such as the wellbeing programme and the flexible benefits scheme helps us to attract and retain the best.
"At Coloplast we want our employees to get the most out of their lives - every day - in and out of work. Not having to think about paying medical insurance and making sure they have sufficient funds going into their pension means our staff can worry less about the future and focus more on making the most of every day."
Coloplast has also announced that Profit Related Pay (PRP) has been confirmed at five per cent for all employees in Chronic Care. Through its PRP scheme Coloplast employees see the financial benefits of the company's success, as their pay is directly related to the company's profitability.
