"We protect your business and our planet" - this MAUSER slogan was also the company's motto of this year's interpack participation.
At the MAUSER booth in hall 10, the visitors could find out more about how they can combine ecology and economy through advanced packaging solutions. The new Sustainability Report gave them an overview on the results that have already been achieved through MAUSER's approach. The trade show visitors were very interested the Sustainability Program, initiated in 2009, and the new product developments.
Additionally to the MAUSER experts at the booth, representatives of MAUSER's subsidiary National Container Group (NCG) presented the worldwide reconditioning services and the "Total Recollect" strategy to the visitors. The focus on sustainability was also reflected in the design of the MAUSER booth. Five large columns - "Renew", "Reduce", "Recollect", "Reuse", and "Recycle" - visualized the ECO-CYCLE strategy of the company in a very impressive way. Through these pillars, visitors could find out more about resource saving and environmentally sound materials consumption.
Tangible product solutions of MAUSER made the practical realization of the future-oriented approach comprehensible.
"For MAUSER, sustainability is not only a vision going forward. Sustainable packaging solutions are already reality for us today. Our customers benefit from this expertise as they can combine ecological and economic advantages," says Dr. Clemens Willée, CEO of MAUSER Group. "MAUSER will further extend this lead and invest in sustainable concepts and solutions in the future. The very positive feedback from our customers and visitors at interpack shows that we are on the right way. We are extremely satisfied with the large number of international visitors at our booth and the successful business contacts on which we can build on in the future."
New Product Solutions on the Sustainability Parcour At interpack 2011, visitors of the MAUSER booth could make themselves familiar with the ECO-CYCLE approach along the Sustainability Parcour. Starting at the pillar "Renew", the course presented new packaging solutions made from bioplastics. Up to 10 percent of weight can be saved through the development of new materials and product designs, which were presented by MAUSER at the booth column "Reduce".
As an exemplary sample, the company showed the open top drum and the L-Ring Drum whose weight could be essentially reduced by new HDPE (polyethylene with higher density) materials. The pillar "Recollect" informed visitors about MAUSER's comprehensive recollection service - including packaging from other manufacturers. With its subsidiary NCG, MAUSER operates a worldwide network of 25 reconditioning sites which will be further extended in the future. At the next column, a reconditioned composite IBC underlined MAUSER's understanding of "Reuse": high-quality solutions which enable customers to act in an ecological and economical way.
Recently, MAUSER has extended its worldwide reconditioning service to steel drums by opening new sites, for example in Singapore. The use of recycled plastics such as Post Consumer Resin (PCR) heavily reduces the environmental impact and carbon footprint. This is why MAUSER and NCG put large efforts in researching new recycling materials. Some of these new materials were presented at the booth pillar "Recycle". For example, MAUSER showed open top drums and pallets completely consisting of recycled plastics as well as a new and approved 3-layer L-Ring Drum which has been recycled in the middle layer.
