WindowMaster (www.windowmaster.co.uk) is co-sponsoring a full day seminar and workshop on natural ventilation in schools organised by the Chartered Institute of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE). The event will seek to make the case for natural ventilation in schools, draw lessons from post-occupancy studies and set out strategies for future compliance.
The Natural Ventilation of UK School Classrooms event, which is taking place at the Old Refectory at University College London on Tuesday 4 October, will feature presentations from leading academics in the field of natural ventilation, industry consultants and solutions providers.
WindowMaster's Carl Sutterby will be discussing the Art of Fine Control as part of the session on delivering a compliant natural ventilation strategy.
Carl said: "This important event will allow us to state the case for natural ventilation and help set the compliance agenda for the coming years. Natural ventilation depends on the ability to open and close windows as necessary to ensure sufficient air changes to maintain optimum indoor climate quality. Millimetre by millimetre control of façade and roof windows is essential so that they automatically open and close according to fixed values for the desired room temperature and CO2 levels, as well as external temperature, rain and wind speed.
"It is always pleasant to have fresh air coming in through the window. But it can be inconvenient having to adjust the window constantly to maintain the desired temperature or to keep out wind and rain.
"WindowMaster's intelligent systems automatically ensure that windows are in the required position to provide the optimal internal air temperature and air quality and always remember to close the window if it starts to rain or the wind blows too heavily."
The event is co-sponsored by WindowMaster sister company Monodraught and SE Controls.
