Fujitsu UK has extended the scope of its existing contract with leading energy and facilities management company GSH and increased its term for a further five years.

Under the terms of the multi-million pound deal, GSH will now take responsibility for the company's entire UK corporate portfolio. It will also be introducing a new bespoke maintenance specification which has been developed in conjunction with BSRIA (Building Services Research and Information Association) and Fujitsu, which is designed to further improve efficiency.

The new contract was awarded on the basis of the strong existing relationship between the two businesses which has developed over many years. GSH were awarded their original contract in 2007 to maintain three of Fujitsu's critical data centres. Fujitsu later added its corporate offices in Northern Ireland, Northern England and the Midlands to GSH's remit following its consistently high levels of service.

GSH Group Managing Director John Davy, said:

"This award demonstrates GSH's ability to adapt to our customers needs in line with the challenges they face in today's market place. We are continually looking to innovate and to drive in efficiency through technology and smarter working practices. This maintenance approach aligned with our technology changes the previous prescriptive way of working, which we believe will add value to how Fujitsu manage and maintain their estate going forward."
