Leading independent facilities management company Incentive FM has received a top award from Yorkshire in Bloom, the voluntary regional organisation that administers the Britain in Bloom Campaign in North, South, East and West Yorkshire, North and North-East Lincolnshire.
The Overall Gold Award was awarded to Incentive FM in recognition of the quality of the landscaping, grounds and flowers that it is responsible for at Crystal Peaks Shopping Centre and Retail Park in Sheffield.
The landscaping team, which consists of Steve Hill, Darren Raynes and David May were praised for their innovation and dedication. Incentive FM has been providing a fully integrated facilities management service at Crystal Peaks since 2008 working closely with its management company, Cushman & Wakefield. During this time Incentive FM has completed a number of biodiversity studies at the site linking with local Environment Agencies and Ranger Services, and is committed to working towards improving the biodiversity and therefore reducing the impact on the environment and wider community.
Beehives have been installed and the landscaping planting now complements the hives' activity to ensure they thrive. The team has also introduced a 'meadow bank' to allow wildlife to flourish.
Commenting on the award Jeremy Waud, Managing Director at Incentive FM, said:
"Traditionally companies providing a facilities management service focus on the core elements of catering, cleaning and maintenance. However we take a more holistic approach working to achieve sustainability objectives within the business, property and FM strategy to benefit the environment, the workforce and the wider community. Landscaping is a growing area for our business and we have just won a significant grounds management contract at Cambridge Research Park. "This Gold Award recognises the hard work that the team has put in at Crystal Peaks to make a positive and lasting improvement to the local environment for the benefit of local people."
Britain in Bloom is the largest horticultural campaign in Europe and each year it grows in size and importance and involves more people, groups and organisations creating lasting improvements to local environments.
