HSE Passport, the simple and cost effective health and safety compliance scheme (for contract and temporary workers) today launches a brand new health and safety industry blog. It can be found at:
The blog aims to inform recruitment agencies, agency workers, temporary workers, contractors, freelancers and host companies of their duty under current health & safety legislation, whilst operating any temporary contract or position.
Achieving legal compliance is at the forefront of most business agendas, this new industry blog will set to educate and engage with all Health, Safety & Environmental professionals and promotes their HSE Passport for contractors and temporary workers.
HSE Passport can help businesses avoid accidents that can lead to heavy fines (should an agency worker be injured in the work place) and could create cost savings by ensuring that agency workers and temporary assigned staff have at least a basic level of health and safety training prior to arriving on site. The passport scheme can also prevent delays in the commencement of an assignment or workplace project.
For a host company, after a contractor has been appraised of any site specific issues, they are free to begin their assignment immediately, thus eliminating the need to give training whilst paying the agency for non-productive time.
As an employer, umbrella organisations must take responsibility for basic health and safety training. This can not only delay the start of the assignment but can also be extremely costly, HSE Passport can simplify the process which could show a significant saving in administrative costs.
Guy Schrecker, General Manager, HSE Passport said:
"More and more companies are stipulating that agency or temporary workers can demonstrate that they have basic H&S training before starting an assignment, so holding a HSE Passport should put them in front of the competition and help them to 'win work'."
He went on to say:
"The new industry blog will act as a resource area for all like minded health and safety professionals and will also give subscribers the ability to comment and offer opinion on some of the industry news articles we will cover".
