High-quality occupational safety and health training has become more accessible thanks to a new partnership between the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) and training solutions company Astutis.
As trusted training partners, RoSPA, an accident prevention charity with a 94-year history, and Astutis, which specialises in health, safety and environmental training, will welcome each other's clients on to courses that lead to some of Britain's most popular safety and health qualifications.
RoSPA delegates can now access some Astutis courses in Warrington, Leeds, Newport and Heathrow, and Astutis clients can access some RoSPA courses in Birmingham and Edinburgh.
Courses covered by the agreement are: the NEBOSH (National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health) National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety; the NEBOSH Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety; and, the IOSH (Institution of Occupational Safety and Health) Managing Safely course. RoSPA trainers will also deliver training for the NEBOSH National Certificate in Construction Health and Safety at Astutis venues.
Tom Mullarkey, RoSPA chief executive, said: "Our clients tell us that quality and flexibility are hugely important when it comes to training. Course delivery needs to be of the highest standard, complemented by the flexibility to choose dates and venues that best meet requirements. Through this partnership with Astutis, our clients have access to training that is of a consistently high standard at a greater number of venues and on a wider range of dates. We are also looking forward to welcoming Astutis clients to our courses.
"This partnership is good news for employers and health and safety professionals across Britain who are looking for high-quality training that promotes a proportionate approach to preventing accidents and ill health at work."
Steve Terry, managing director of Astutis, which is based in Nantgarw near Cardiff, said: "I am delighted that RoSPA, which has an enviable reputation, has chosen Astutis as a trusted partner for the delivery of some NEBOSH and IOSH-accredited courses. Astutis is a relatively new brand but the management team behind it has built a reputation for delivering high-quality training over the last 15 years.
"We share the same values as RoSPA, including that training should promote a balanced approach to health and safety management, be excellent value for money and produce first-class results for clients. Our new partnership will deliver in all these respects."
Members of the Astutis management team have significant experience of the health and safety sector from their time with CHSS, later part of Connaught Compliance Training Services.
