Marc Smith, SHEQ Director at Deconstruct (UK) has been 'highly commended' at the collaborative 'Innovation in Safety Awards 2011'.
The award submission (entered by Deconstruct (UK) Limited) demonstrated best use of smartphone technology on construction sites, helping to minimise risk and promote safety messages at all times. The smartphones capture video footage and real-time photography which in turn, became dynamic risk assessments.
The fast and accurate reporting functionality, through the smartphones, enables employees to develop pictorial method statements and manage on site risks accordingly.
-- The 'Innovation in safety - small business award' is a new competition from IOSH and the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) to find new ideas to improve health and safety in small businesses.
