Armacell UK, the market leader in elastomeric thermal insulation products, have had their successful long term contract with British Gas extended for a further 12 months. The agreement further strengthens the long-standing commercial relationship between the two companies, and confirms Armacell as the preferred supplier for pipe insulation for heating and plumbing installations.
Salim Ahmed, Procurement and Supplier Management Consultant of British Gas commented 'This is the ninth year running we have worked with Armacell as supplier of our insulation materials. The service support provided and technical performance of the insulation has been paramount in our choice of supplier and Armacell has a well proven track record with us for both of these requirements'.
The pipework insulation products supplied to British Gas are manufactured in the UK, a factor which Armacell UK Sales and Marketing Manager, Mike Rust, sees as integral to the success of the agreement. 'As a UK manufacturer we are able to respond extremely quickly to the requirements of our local market, while maintaining minimum transport and haulage costs, enabling us to remain competitive on price without having to compromise on product quality or service'.
British Gas is at the forefront of initiatives to help home owners and domestic customers replace old and inefficient boilers. By fitting a new energy efficient boiler, annual carbon emissions are reduced by up to 30%, a figure which the Armacell pipe insulation helps maintain while also making a contribution towards overall efficiency and effective performance.
