Hotel Concepts - Brilliant and Passkey Unite to Provide Group Housing Integration to Growing Hotel Portfolios

Effectively booking and servicing hotel room blocks for groups hosting events often requires a high level of personalized service.

This level of attentiveness and customization can create a significant drain on hotel resources. Moreover, managing rooming lists often leaves hotels exposed to security risks and possible irreparable damage to a brand's reputation. By leveraging standards established by OpenTravel (OTA) and Hotel Technology Next Generation ("HTNG"), Hotel Concepts - Brilliant ("Hotel Concepts") and Passkey International, Inc. ("Passkey") have joined forces to offer an integrated technology between their systems.

The new integration will fully connect Hotel Concepts' Integrated Distribution Property Management System ("IDPMS") and Passkey's GroupMAX group reservation technology, promising to improve hotel operation efficiencies, ensure guest data protection and capture new opportunities for group revenue. "The integration between IDPMS and GroupMAX creates a unified technology platform which removes the limitations and inefficiencies within managing group housing for our clients," says Bas Blommaart, CEO of Hotel Concepts - Brilliant. First to launch the new Hotel Concepts and Passkey interface is Denver-based Stout Street Hospitality ("Stout Street"), which has deployed the technology at its five centrally managed properties, Magnolia Hotels. Magnolia Hotels shares a secure, single guest database where they can facilitate the entire group reservation process from a central location. Jeff Parker, vice president of technology with the hotel group, described the interface's impact on Stout Street's group business, "GroupMAX gives Magnolia Hotels the tools to improve customer communications, increase accuracy and reduce costs related to group reservations. They are a key partner in making Magnolia Hotels competitive with the major hotel brands." The Hotel Concepts and Passkey interface represents a direct, two-way flow of reservation data, enabling all bookings to be immediately mirrored within both IDPMS and GroupMAX.

This automated synchronization of inventory adds up to substantial time savings and abridged risk of data-entry errors for hotel operators. Additionally, the connectivity now provides meeting planners managing rooming lists a PCI-compliant process to exchange lists containing credit card information online, guaranteeing their attendee's personal data protection and removing any hotel security threats.

The interface also offers single properties and hotel groups such as Stout Street the ability to capture thousands of dollars of additional revenue. The integrated software network continually updates available inventory within GroupMAX, enabling hotel staff to offer group guests real-time room upgrade options and extended stays, while ensuring optimal inventory allocation. As an added advantage, both Stout Street and its meeting planners can easily communicate discounted rate promotions to those who have registered for the event but not yet booked a hotel room, encouraging in-block bookings and improved pick-up pace.
