Yachthotel Chiemsee simplifies hotel management with SoftBrands

More transparency and sped-up processes at room allocation, conference management and checkout.

SoftBrands, an affiliate of Infor, a leading provider of business application software serving over 70,000 customers, today announced that Yachthotel Chiemsee has simplified and accelerated its hotel management with SoftBrands Hospitality. The industry-specific solution creates more flexibility and transparency at the front office, the conference management and the checkout.

Being a four-star hotel situated at lake Chiemsee, the Yachthotel offers numerous arrangements for private and business purposes plus individually combinable services. Packaging these offers turned out to be more and more complex with the previous DOS-based solution: it caused downtimes, needed DOS-compatible hardware and demanded the knowledge of 20 different keyboard shortcuts even for basic tasks. With SoftBrands different offer-packages can be selected and modified with a simple mouse click by the front-office employees.

Having a look at the room plan, rooms can be directly selected to list all available information on a specific guest and his reservation. When new guests arrive the front-office employees can see the complete guest history and therefore are able to serve the person in the most suitable way.

Although the company hosts meetings on two thirds of the time throughout the year a professional conference management solution did not exist at the Yachthotel Chiemsee. SoftBrands now helps to manage timetables, create room plans and to exactly plan fixed rates.

The checkout benefits as well: service employees are able to select specific tables on touch screens and type in the guests' orders. This directly leads to a quicker workflow. The intuitive software interface makes it easy for new employees or trainees to use the solution after a one-day training period.
