Camfil Farr is a global manufacturer of air filtration equipment and associated services and the world leader in the production and development of air filters.
Camfil won the award for Best Engineering Plant at the Best Factory Awards 2011.
Camfil Farr's 160,000 sq ft manufacturing facility in Haslingden, Lancashire won the 'Best Engineering Plant' and was highly commended for the Health & Safety Award and the Energy & Environment Award. The Best Factory Awards are organised by the Cranfield School of Management in partnership with Works Management.
The scheme has grown out of the prestigious Management Today Awards for Manufacturing, which the Cranfield School of Management has been associated with since 1992.
The purpose of the scheme is to promote and reward manufacturing excellence in the UK, in order to increase international competitiveness. Since 1992 over 1600 manufacturing plants have taken part in the awards.
Jamie Kay, Production Director at Camfil Ltd said:
"Few factories can produce standard and non-standard products with equal speed and consistent quality. Thanks to our confident, skilled workforce and superb engineering skills, we do it every day. This award is a huge endorsement from manufacturing experts of the capability of our people and processes".
The winners of the 2011 Best Factory Awards were announced at an awards lunch at the Sheraton Park Lane Hotel, London on September 30th.
