Increasing Use of Natural Gas as an Alternate Fuel to Drive Asia and MEA Natural Compressors, Natural Gas Engines, Gas Turbines, Centrifugal Gas Compressors Market.

Asia and Middle East and Africa (MEA) natural gas engines market in was valued at US$ 283.6 Mn in 2013 and is expected to reach US$ 2,137.7 Mn by 2022, growing at a CAGR of 25.2% from 2015 to 2022.
Published 30 November 2015
According to 2013 statistics from the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA), oil and natural gas production is expected to rise steadily in the next two decades. In particular, natural gas production is projected to rise by 44% from 2011 through 2040, whereas crude oil and natural gas liquids are expected to increase by almost 25% till 2019.
Further, the 2013 data of the EIA states that more than half of new oil wells explored co-produce natural gas. Compressors are utilized extensively for production of natural gas from these operations.
Equipment Used for Drilling, Transportation of Natural Gas - An Overview :
Compressors are mechanical devices used to increase the pressure of natural gas, which enables transportation of natural gas through the entire supply chain, from the production site to the consumer.
Compressors are of two types, reciprocating and centrifugal. While reciprocating compressors are mostly used for compressing natural gas and other process gases for elevating gas flow rate to reach the desired pressure, centrifugal compressors are employed at locations to convert the gas into usable forms for the market, such as in chemical and processing plants and in distribution network pipelines of drilling fields and ships.
Both natural gas engines and natural gas compressors are used in natural gas vehicle (NGV) applications, such as municipal fleets, public utilities, school buses, and forklift procedures.
Gas turbine machines are mostly employed in integrated power and heat applications, industrial cogeneration, and combined-cycle technology power generation plants. However, simple-cycle unit gas turbines are usually deployed in renewable energy power plants.

Prospects of Natural Gas Compressors, Gas Turbines, and Natural Gas Engines in Asia and Middle East and Africa (MEA) in Coming Years

Based on estimates from a leading market research firm, the consolidated market for natural engines was valued at US$283.6 million in 2013 in Asia and the Middle East and Africa. Expanding at a whopping 25.2% CAGR from 2015 to 2022, the market is expected to reach US$2,137.7 million by 2022.

By volume, in 2013, a total of 23,893 units shipment was registered in the natural gas engines market. The gas turbines market stood at US$6,658.0 million in 2013 and is anticipated to register a CAGR of 8.9% from 2015 to 2022.

Key Countries in Asia and MEA for Uptake of Market for Natural Compressors, Gas Turbines, Natural Gas Engines, and Centrifugal Gas Compressors

In 2013, Kazakhstan contributed the largest revenue of US$27.7 million to the natural engines market. This is mainly due to the rise in the number of natural gas vehicles in the country, fostering the growth of the natural gas engines market.Rise in the number of natural gas vehicles, combined with other applications such as gas gathering, well head gas recovery, gas elimination, and flare elimination, has been favorable for higher deployment of natural gas compressors in the Middle East.

Hence, in 2013, the natural gas compressors market stood at US$82.9 million and US$86.3 million and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Saudi Arabia, respectively. The natural gas compressors market holds promise in Africa as well. In 2013, the volume of shipments in Algeria was 1561 units and is anticipated to exhibit a CAGR of 12.1% from 2015 to 2022.
