Specialist plastics packaging technology business Petainer (www.petainer.com) has appointed Mark Ellis as group financial director to help drive the continued growth of the business.

Specialist plastics packaging technology business Petainer has appointed Mark Ellis as group financial director to help drive the continued growth of the business.
Mark has joined Petainer after 20 years with the RPC Group, Europe's leading supplier of rigid plastic packaging, including three years as general manager of two manufacturing sites.
In his new role with Petainer he will be involved in and support effective commercial and strategic decision-making, corporate finance and funding strategies and will assist in identifying and evaluating acquisitions.
Petainer chief executive Nigel Pritchard said: "We are delighted to welcome Mark as our group financial director. As Petainer builds on its industry-leading position it is vital that we have people of this calibre and with his capabilities on board.
"His knowledge and experience in the highly-competitive plastics packaging business will be important as we continue to focus on sustainable technologies and material efficiency to deliver cost-effective, environmentally-friendly packaging."
As group finance manager and corporate development director at RPC, Mark was responsible for group finance, acquisitions, statutory and management reporting, and treasury management.
Mark said: "This is an exciting opportunity to join a market leader and to contribute to the development of innovative new products. Petainer is establishing clear technology leadership in the packaging industry and I'm relishing the challenge to help take the company forward to new levels of growth and business development."
A qualified member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), Mark is married to Deborah and they have two children, Matthew, 17, and Katharine, 14. They live in Rutland, England.
