Case Demonstrates Materials Handling Capability

Case Construction Equipment will provide a wide range of materials handling solutions at this year's Hillhead exhibition. With a full line of construction and industrial equipment on offer, Case will demonstrate its commitment to the extraction and rehandling sectors, with a diverse selection of machines on static and working demonstration sites.

Powerful Loader Shows Strength
The largest wheeled loading shovel in the Case range, the 1221E, will be in action on the working face of the quarry, operating in tandem with the Case 340ADT. Powered by a Stage III compliant Cummins 11 litre engine, the 1221E has a powerful 320hp (239kW) available, which drives through a torque sensing autoshift transmission.

Both front and rear axles incorporate limited slip differentials, ensuring maximum traction when digging into the face and when loading. Oil-cooled disc brakes provide long service life, high performance braking, for low operating costs and maximum productivity.

With a large ergonomically designed cab, with pillarless glazing to the front and both sides for maximum visibility, the 1221E offers total operator comfort. The cab is among the quietest in the industry, thanks to low engine noise levels and effective isolation mountings, that also cut vibration.

Equipped with a robust Z-bar loader linkage, the 1221E offers a powerful 22,550kg of breakout force, with an exceptional 31,690kg lift capacity when fitted with a standard 5.7m3 bucket.

Industry Specific Design
The CX210 MH is the latest addition to the growing range of industry specific models designed and manufactured by Case Special Excavators (CSX). Each machine has been purpose-built, incorporating strengthened main frames, additional counterweight, a hydraulic elevating cab and dedicated work equipment.

Based on well proven CX210B crawler excavator components, the CX210BMH is equipped with a 6.8m main boom and a 4.8m straight arm, for use with sorting grapples and other materials handling attachments. This combination provides the 26 tonne machine with a forward reach of 11,290mm at the top pin position.

Rapid boom raise and twin arm cylinders, combined with fast upper structure slew functions contribute to short cycle times. Twin dipper arm rams are mounted outside the boom to allow an increase in operating angle for a larger working envelope. This also provides a very low boom height for ease of transportation.

The proven elevating cab structure on the Case CX-B models offers up to 2.3m of lift. The rigid structure inspires total operator confidence, providing stability and improved visibility to the working area.

Unrivalled Industry Coverage
From compact plant to the heaviest of quarry equipment, Case has a materials handling solution on to meet the needs of UK customers. Representing the smaller line of Case machinery will be two models from the Series 3 skid steer line-up, the 410 and the 440, both of which can be equipped with a wide range of powered attachments.

The Case wheeled loader range will be well represented, with the 721EXT, the 821EXR and the 921E on static display. These machines provide the ideal stocking and rehandling solution, as well as being capable of heavy duty extraction at the quarry face.

The CX210BMH will be joined by the larger CX240BMH, which was introduced last year. Together these two machines provide an ideal materials handling capability for a range of industry sectors, from scrap handling to marine loading. The larger CX470B will demonstrate the Case commitment to heavy excavation duties, providing a perfect match for the 330ADT that completes the static display line-up.

With representatives from Case dealers across the UK, along with support from CNH Finance, customers visiting the Case Construction Equipment stand will be able to find a complete materials handling solution, whatever the size of their operation and the materials to be moved.

The Hillhead 2010 exhibition takes place at the Hillhead Quarry, Buxton, Derbyshire on 22-24 June, 2010. One of the largest shows of its kind in the world, Hillhead features a wide range of quarrying, recycling and materials handling machinery, in a real working quarry environment.
