Kier Plant has promoted Peter Barrett from senior operations manager to the role of operations director.
Peter, who has been with Kier for 37 years, will now report directly to managing director Ian Gordon and will have overall responsibility for all of Kier Plant's hire depots.
Ian Gordon commented: "I am very pleased to announce the promotion of Peter Barrett to operations director. He brings a fantastic wealth of experience to the company and I wish him every success for the future in his new role."

Kier Plant hires out equipment from six depots around the UK both to member companies of the Group and external clients throughout the UK and overseas.
Equipment available includes a broad range of site accommodation from individual units to large sectional offices suitable for all sizes of contracts.
Mechanical plant comprises a range of tower cranes, including luffers and self-erect units suitable for building works of all kinds - all available with generators or mains supply.
The lifting gear is further supplemented by a crawler crane fleet and full range of telescopic handlers. A full range of under hook equipment is also available.
Marine equipment, including crane barges & uniflotes enhances the civil engineering capability of the company.
