GCM Promo Acquires Actiplay

GCM Promo bolsters its technology offering in online marketing games.

Online marketing games specialist GCM Promo (Groupe ConcoursMania - FR0011038348, ALGCM) has announced the signature of a Memorandum of Understanding(1) with a view to acquiring the business of Actiplay (Montpellier), a digital agency specialized in the design and production of 2D and 3D marketing games and promotional sites on all kinds of platforms (web, social networks, smartphones, tablets, etc).

Actiplay, leader in 2D and 3D marketing games In March 2011 Actiplay was ranked as one of France's "2000 Most Promising Companies" at OSEO Excellence 2011.

Actiplay expects to achieve turnover of €1.5 M in 2011. The company's business generates an operating margin rate similar to that of GCM Promo.

An acquisition in line with the group's strategic plan
This buyout is part of GCM Promo's growth strategy, outlined when the group was floated on the stock market last May: a combination of targeted acquisitions and strong organic growth. The company has now strengthened its technological assets, in particular in social networks and mobile networks.

With Actiplay, GCM Promo has acquired unique expertise and development tools in the most powerful 2D and 3D games on the market, and is thus developing both its B2B and its B2C offering.

Thanks to Actiplay's client portfolio, GCM Promo has also added a new layer to its presence in the distribution sector and with consumer goods advertisers.
Since 2008 GCM Promo has enjoyed very strong growth thanks to a strategic mix between its B2B business and its B2C activity, which has boosted the Group's turnover spectacularly (+ 1953% between 2006 and 2010). This growth has recently won recognition in the 2011 edition of the Deloitte Fast 50 and the Deloitte Fast 500 EMEA.(2)

"We have completed this takeover 6 months after our listing on the Alternext stock exchange and it is the first step in our external growth plan. The entirely self-financed acquisition of Actiplay will allow us to accelerate our growth and move further towards our objective: to become Europe's number one online marketing games company", explains Julien Parrou, founder and director of GCM Promo.

(1) The transaction will definitively go ahead once certain conditions precedent have been fulfilled. This should be within the next few days.
(2) 1str Prize in the Deloitte Technology Fast 50 South West, and NYSE Euronext Special Prize (27 October); National Prize in the Fast 50, in the Internet, Media & Entertainment category (17 November), and lastly Prize for Europe in the Deloitte Technology Fast 500, in this same category (24 November).
