Peterborough Regional College's Daniel Munns received 'Best Media Student' award from Paralympic medal winner Ade Adepitan (pictured) and award sponsor Dawn Strange from Media Matters.
Daniel picked up his accolade at the college's annual awards' ceremony last week when more than 60 students were recognised for their achievements.
Ade Adepitan, guest of honour, gave an inspirational opening speech before individual students were cheered onto the stage to receive their award.
Daniel is in his second year and won the title for his excellent television practical work.
"It was great to recognise Daniel's achievements but also to witness the high standard of work by all students," said Dawn Strange, from city pr and marketing company Media Matters. "People are so quick to knock the younger generation - this awards event helped put the record straight and silence the critics!"
Media Matters was one of a number of city companies supporting the college through sponsorship and additional prizes for students.
