Motorola Defy is a handset that gets attention not only because it is rugged, but also because it is smart-looking. Actually, Motorola is giving you a chance to flaunt your individuality, and that too through its ever-growing budget-friendly portfolio. The Defy seems like a rare breed in the market, joining the likes of Samsung Xcover. These handsets can handle all the daily abuses, without any complaints (and all this is done in a stylish manner). As a matter of fact, it does look very cute! The tough body is complemented with this attractive design.
This rugged handset is rather small and lightweight, despising the expectations of consumers. But, we are glad that our expectations are broken. The 3.7 inches LCD touch screen responded to our commands like an obedient kid. The support for multi-touch enhances our experience while navigating through different home screens. Color performance is perfect & not oversaturated as one would usually find on an OLED display.
The Motorola Defy deals runs on the Android 2.1(Éclair), which is great even though it seems outdated to many. The Motorola's own customized Moto Blur home screen adds to the user's excitement. The Defy runs on the 800 MHz processor, which is perfect as per today's standard for mid-range smart phone. The pairing of Android Éclair and this processor gives results on par with the likes of HTC Desire.
Motorola has been very kind to incorporate 2 GB of memory space, with the 512 MB of RAM. The usual micro SD card slot didn't get any response from us. The audio quality is incredibly good with overall good frequency response. It isn't as fine as the N8 or the iPod Touch, but majority of the users would not be able to guess any difference unless they have invested in expensive headphones.
