A time and attendance specialist is helping UK road haulage and public transport companies streamline their operations while helping employees keep track of their bonus, overtime and holiday entitlement using the latest biometric fingerprint recognition technology.
North East Time Recorders Ltd based in Blaydon, Tyne and Wear has worked with Computime Systems Ltd of Leeds to develop software which enables a biometric reader to act as a time clock and job cost system at multiple sites, with the data automatically feeding back to head office. The system is based on the proven Krypton Access biometric fingerprint reader, designed for easy installation and low maintenance.
One innovation which is proving popular with the transport sector is the ability to identify maintenance costs on individual vehicles, enabling management to assess reliability and operating costs by make, model and individual vehicle. Data is collated automatically, so repeat maintenance can be analysed, preventative maintenance scheduled and costly downtime eliminated.
East Time Recorders Managing Director Chris Routledge says:
"We chose the Krypton system because it is the most robust and versatile biometric reader on the market. Then we spent six months talking to customers throughout the UK to find out what they need, then we helped develop the software to offer a low cost, easy to install package which required little or no training to operate. The system runs on standard PC's and requires only a power supply and a CAT cable to run. Early trials indicate substantial cost benefits over manual data entry systems and we are confident we can demonstrate a fast return on investment.
