Curtain walling and windows from Kawneer are being installed at Trinity Leeds.
Architectural aluminium systems from Kawneer are being used on the £350million Trinity Leeds development which is designed to achieve an "Excellent" BREEAM rating and 28% improvement over Part L (CO2 emissions).
Kawneer's curtain walling and windows feature on the 1 million²ft urban regeneration development in Leeds' prime shopping district which is set to become a retail beacon for the UK when it opens on 21st March 2013. Already 80% of the scheme is pre-let or in solicitors' hands. Trinity Leeds will become home to more than 120 new shops, stores and restaurants and the first sites out of London for two particularly notable brands - a new Everyman boutique cinema complex and a new D&D London restaurant designed by Conran & Partners.
The crowning glory of the scheme by Land Securities will be a glazed and naturally ventilated roof covering almost 40,000²ft featuring an atrium with a 180ft span. The Kawneer systems are being installed to a design by architects Chapman Taylor in two separate areas. The Trinity West refurbishment features Kawneer's AA®100 capped and AA®110 zone-drained curtain walling on shopfronts and link bridges, AA®601 top-hung casement and AA®603 tilturn windows installed by approved specialist sub-contractor Drawn Metal. Kawneer systems are also being installed by Bennett Architectural Aluminium Solutions on the Trinity East new-build element.
