The Global Group of Companies, including Global Heat Transfer, has appointed Christopher Dryer as its new group accountant to help achieve the company’s rapid growth goals. Dryer joins the Global Group of Companies from UK Fuels, one of the UK’s Top 30 privately owned companies.
Amongst Dryer’s key tasks will be working with Global Heat Transfer, one of the Global Group companies, which has seen rapid growth of 66% in the last year. The business, a thermal fluid specialist, providing heat transfer engineering assistance and thermal fluid supplies, is one of the most innovative in the group.
As an auditor and accountant with Baker Tilly Limited, one of the UK’s Top 10 accountancy firms, Dryer also obtained his ACA (Association of Chartered Accounts) qualification. His main responsibilities in the role included managing financial accounts and auditing a wide range of companies.
In only five years he rose from junior to senior accountant, building excellent professional relationships with his customers. As a result, he was recruited by one of his clients, UK Fuels Limited, at the beginning of 2011.
As an assistant financial controller at UK Fuels Limited, Dryer was assigned to work on the Southern and Northern Irish branches. He was in charge of a team of seven which managed the audit process of 15 companies with a combined turnover of £260m.
Dryer’s key achievement in this job role was taking sole responsibility for an annual project that correctly allocated the head office costs of 50 companies from the UK Fuels group.
“I’m very keen to create new management reports that will help Global Group achieve its goals and continue its rapid growth,” Dryer says. “I am planning to use my experience and the excellent training I have already received from Global to streamline costs, increase profitability and explore new areas of business development.”
Outside work, Dryer is a football and golf enthusiast who also enjoys sailing. He has recently obtained his RYA 1&2 qualifications for dinghies and keelboats and has been a member of a local sailing club, where he participates in events such as racing days.
